POKEMON Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (often called ORAS) were released 2014 for the 3DS. They are in Generation VI (6) of POKEMON along with POKEMON X & Y also for the 3DS. This review will focus more on the Omega Ruby side because that's the game I own.

The whole plotline of ORAS is you are moving to the Hoenn region from the Johto region. Your dad is the new gym leader. Your neighbors are the Birches. Their daughter, May, is excited about making a new friend. You hear screaming from Route 101. You know Professor Birch is doing fieldwork. You go investigate. Turns out Professor Birch is scared of a Poochyena. You choose a Pokemon to save him. You have 3 choices of the Fire, Grass, and Water types. Your choices are Treeko, Torchic, and Mudkip. Since I'm a grass trainer, I chose Treeko. You save Birch. You get Treeko/Torchic/Mudkip.

THROUGH GAME TIP:
When you walk in tall grass, you may enter a Pokemon battle with a wild Pokemon. You can Run.
After going through Route 101, you go to Oldale Town. In Oldale, there is the first Pokemon Center and Pokeshop. From Oldale, you can go to Route 103 or Route 102. In Route 102, there is an unavoidable Trainer Battle.
TRAINER BATTLE TIP:
You can't Run.
The Trainer Battle is with Youngster Calvin.
